IDS judge Axel Mack would like to adress the issue of drivers complaining about his judging on our blog and we’re glad to give him the plattform. We agree that those things should be discussed openly and not behind anyone’s back so here we go, Axel Mack speaking:

I’ve heard that some of the drivers are complaining about the judging at the TunerGP Driftchallenge. If you do so, talk to me and not to others please. You are wondering why so many of the Top16 used E-brake? Cause they made a safety run with e-brake and took about 5-10 minus points depending how often/long they ripped it. I told you in the briefing that i don’t want to see it and i answered the question how bad it is with: Not a nogo but you get minus… Thats why there are so many 88-90 cause they got 5-10points deducted.
If you think you can see more from the start grid or the stands than me on the judge stand i tell you one more time. Talk to me ask me if you can come up and o show you how much more you see from above. Some already did, everybody of them was impressed. But if its not necessary for you to take 10min to come up, agree my judging and leave me alone!
I will decide after Sosnova if i continue judging cause i don’t get much of it and believe it makes no fun its hard work!

I agree with Axel’s rant here – I hope you will decide to still judge in Sosnova because I think you are one of the best judges I’ve had
I also made the error of focusing too much on “not using” the e-brake for this course, even though I could’ve done better runs if I used it. (not missing the clips so much)
But that’s not a reason to get upset because in the end you stated precisely how you will give lower scores for e-brake users.. and in the end the line, cipping points and outright speed are more important anyway than a few dabs of e-brake i guess.
hope to see you in CZ
