Not only our tires, brake pads, clutches and manifold gaskets suffer from constant use and abuse on the racetrack. We must never forget to check on our wheel suspension parts from time to time, although we tend to think, that these things should last a car’s lifetime.

Aerodynamics might not be a region we “ordinary” petrolheads spend too much thought on, mostly just putting a big wing, side skirts and a front lip on our car (or removing the same thing, depending on your taste) to make it look better and meaner. But still, it might be good to have a basic understanding of what you’re doing to your car, even more so if you spend hours deciding which tires, oils, pistons etc. you should use to get maximum performance, meaning ruining the gained performance by unfortunate body parts would be a shame. I will try to keep the simplified theoretical ramblings short and mainly show a few nice pictures that show what happens where.

Tuning our engines and constantly making them perform better is nice… but we should also never forget to maintain them properly and assure reliability. Today I’d like to focus on servicing the lifters:

As this week is Vintage week, we are looking back to the glory days of racing. The Cosworth DFV engine is in our opinion the most successful engine in Formula 1 history! With over 150 victories and 16 years of racing we can say it is a very special engine.

The hachiroku is a great car to learn to drive fast. Fast in the sense of being fast and not just being able to burn a good time on the quatermile or getting impressiv 0 – 100km/h results. Commonly known, the S-chassis Nissans are immensely popular among the drift community. The relatively light body, FR turbo setup combined with low prices and great parts source (both used and aftermarket) makes the “S” the perfect car to start drifting, attacking time or just having fun on and off the track.
