Saturday was over and the final day at the IDS Round 5 brought some nice suprises.

Instead of a normal photo friday, today’s when you’re gonna have to chose which of our cars you’d prefer to have as your desktop background, as I’ve prepared wallpapers of some of our drift cars. They’re all available in either widescreen (1920×1200) or normal (1600×1200) resolution, so please start downloading and enjoy!

A few weeks ago, on the sunday of the same weekend as the Drift Challenge at Hockenheim, we also did an IDS round at Nurbring. Now unfortunately this has been one of those events that I simply haven’t found the time to process the photos of. Also I’m currently studying for my exams which are in August/September, so it won’t get any better..
So here are a few pictures from the Nürburgring smokefest without any long stories:

As the one last week, this week’s Photo Friday features an event held at Anneau du Rhin in France. After the JDM Allstars it’s the slightly more civilised
group of drivers who enlisted for the this year’s july edition of the popular Speed Industries Trackday at Anneau.

We here at Speed Industries have quite an incredible month behind us. It’s been something like eight events in five weeks recently, so things got a little stressful sometimes. For me, this has meant going through about 15’000 pictures while still trying to find some time for the “normal” live in the few days between the events. I’m not complaining though, as it has been an awesome month for me, I love almost nothing as much as being out there in the smoke and dust of drift events with my friends!

we photographers have the best spectators spots!
Last weekend was a pretty crazy one for the team, as you might have heard already. We did the Sport Auto Drift Challenge at Hockenheim on friday and saturday and the IDS at the Nurburgring on Sunday. Summarizing the whole thing, the only word that comes to my mind is “crazy”, as I’ve met so many people, had so much fun with them but also because a lot of crazy stuff happened out on track.

Bob was at the European Hillrace in Eschdorf (L) this races counts for the german HillCup rating. With about 210 cars starting in the grid this hillclimb event is one with the most variety. From the officialy fastest Trabant 601 up to the 800bhp strong Porsche 935 bi-turbo you can find nearly every known historic and modern racecar!

A few days ago our team S13 driver Chris asked me if I would like to shoot his daily driver some day. Now maybe you would think a daily driver wouldn’t really warrant a photoshoot but Chris doesn’t have some boring station wagon or family car for a daily runabout but instead got himself this wonderful little Civic Mk2:

When you’re reading this I will already be in a totally different part of switzerland helping the rest of the team with an important appointment in preparation of the Wheelsfest, one of our big events coming up. So please permit me to just leave you with a few action shots from the IDS round in Hockenheim three weeks ago, fresh from the lightroom (pun intended
).

Next big event on the Speed Industries calendar is the sport auto DriftChallenge 2011 at Hockenheim. Enjoy some of the action from last year without much words.
