I&#8217;ve first met the guy\u00a0many years\u00a0ago when we were both barely 18. Back then, we were both\u00a0IT trainees\u00a0in the same company. The main difference was that Thomas was already obsessed with cars, while I was still mainly obsessed with\u00a0having a\u00a0mighty computer and wearing Birkenstocks with\u00a0lame white socks.<\/p>\n<p>You could say Thomas was the guy who first got me into proper cars, since his first car (I won&#8217;t count your crappy micra) was an S13. I&#8217;ll spare you this story as we covered it already in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/?p=746\" target=\"_blank\">&#8222;The days we started racing&#8220; <\/a>report.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/exhaustfacepic.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Time for bosozoku exhaust pipes!!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thomas is a very versatile driver &#8211; He started off with grip driving and I believe that&#8217;s still where his heart belongs in the end. He can drift very well too as he proved on various occasions but in the end, he can&#8217;t rest until he&#8217;s done his\u00a0obligatory\u00a075 laps on the N\u00fcrburgring Norschleife every year. What a nutter!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/racecarniceshot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"594\" height=\"394\" \/><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">His current\u00a0S14 racecar\u00a0is a sight to behold<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d describe his driving style as very calm and controlled. He&#8217;d rather work his way up on a trackday, starting off taking it easy and then raising the bar more and more. But when he&#8217;s at the peak (which usually doesn&#8217;t take long) then you better be ready or he&#8217;ll smoke you on the spot. His driving is also very precise since he&#8217;s a perfectionist in general.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/racecarfrontbig.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thomas joined Team Speed Industries\u00a0over a year ago, but he&#8217;s always been part of\u00a0 the gang\u00a0back when the\u00a0team started taking shape. Even tough he does not drive competively in either Grip or Drift, I still maintain he&#8217;s a force to be reckoned with especially on the scary Nordschleife track. The legendary Norschleife\u00a0battles between Thomas (s13) and myself (AE86) back in the days come to mind&#8230; oh the memories. It&#8217;s actually surprising we are both still alive!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/s13_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">His\u00a0previous car, the\u00a0S13 sitting at the pit lane at Grobnik racetrack in\u00a0Croatia<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>He drives\u00a0the stunning white &amp; gold S14 racecar at the moment\u00a0and unfortunately recently sold his first S13 that he&#8217;d kept for Nordschleife driving. But\u00a0his S14 isn&#8217;t too shabby either, sporting a fully built SR20DET with forged internals, NOS-injection\u00a0and 450hp at peak boost. Fucker!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/racecarinaction.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" height=\"363\" \/><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The S14 is both used for grip and drift driving<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I heard rumours that he&#8217;s already plotting to get a new N\u00fcrburgring toy! Can&#8217;t wait to see what it will be&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s also special about Thomas is the fact that he is both a driver\u00a0<em>and<\/em> a media-team member of Speed Industries. That&#8217;s because he <em>is<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/donthomaso.ch\" target=\"_blank\">donthomaso.ch<\/a>, one of our top photographers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/photographerspic.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Thomas is also in\u00a0our media team, here together with Martin from silverpics<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>Be sure to check out his website if you haven&#8217;t already! That is probably why you don&#8217;t see him on the track <em>that<\/em> often &#8211; he&#8217;s constantly supporting the drift team\u00a0at the\u00a0competitions by taking pictures and helping out!
