Today we have a closer look on Tobias the owner of ‚Speed Industries‘. It’s a pleasure but also a very hard topic to write about.<\/p>\n

I met Tobi 3 years ago when Speed Industries was still an unknown brand and nobody would’ve dreamed about the popularity we have today! I realized soon, that he was ambitious and very open minded person. He’s not only the head of Speed Industries but also a talented driver and DJ.<\/p>\n

\nA true drifter should clean his sidewindow – where the flies are! \ud83d\ude09<\/em><\/p>\n

Like all backyard businesses Tobi started selling parts at a earlier stage. In 2008 he went serious and rented tracks for trackday and drift purposes! These events became very famous in Switzerland since he was the first person to offer proper drifting events on a racetrack for an affordable price, yet very close to Switzerland. A lot of amateur racers love our events, as the atmosphere is known to be very easygoing and fun.<\/p>\n

\nA good enterpreneur has always big plans with little things<\/em><\/p>\n

As an enterpreneur he has various projects running on the side. While his main effort goes into running Speed Industries, he also actively teaches young DJ\u2019s his skills in the DJ University. On top of that, quite often the Team Speed Industrier racing preparations include hardcore partying at one of Tobi\u2019s own nightclub events where he acts as Organisator and DJ as well.<\/p>\n

\nEvent preperation at a local party<\/em><\/p>\n

So basically, party and drifting go hand in hand for us on many racing weekends. Which is great if you can deal with getting less sleep than a bullfrog. (Bullfrogs never sleep)<\/p>\n

\nYes Tobi, this is the drivers seat!<\/em><\/p>\n

Tobi is always eager to have to fanciest cars around. He’s not racing in an average-joe’s car, nor does he use such a car as his daily ride. He owns a Toyota Aristo imported from Japan as his future daily commuter. A PS13 with SR20DET and a few goodies as his driftcar. His driftcar in progress is a AE86 with a sligtly different engine and last but not least, he owns a this very awesome Scooby. A blue Type R converted to a widebody 22B replica with STI 04 drivetrain. You can’t beat this JDMness!<\/p>\n

As a driver he started doing slalom racing in with his white Hachiroku and then soon realized that going sideways was where his heart was at. He changed his ambitions towards drifting then. In 2009 he raced his first PRO season with the astonishing underpowerd (137bhp) Corolla. The season was a sucess, although the results were rather average. However Tobias learned a lot of things during this year and even in the end he was able to do the one or other surprise attack into the Top 10!<\/p>\n

\nBack in the days, the hachiroku was a regular driven car!<\/em><\/p>\n

The team is looking forward to have another brilliant 2011 season which is just on our doorstep now. Preparations are still going strong, but it\u2019s time to put down the pencils now and get into the drift cars as Team Speed Industries will be attacking Monza already this weekend, the 27. of February.<\/p>\n
