Hi y’all! As this month’s theme is „insight into different plattforms“ I am… once more not gonna stick to that and do something completely different instead.. Well, actually there’s pics of lots of different cars, so I’m not miles away. \ud83d\ude42 I simply wanna show you some of my personal favorite shots from events from the last few years during which I’ve been running around in the mud and undergrowth that’s usually surrounding racetracks. Some of them are old beginner pics re-edited, some are a bit newer.
\nNow, when do I actually know I’ve captured something useful? In order to fully explain that I gotta tell you that it’s not completely self-evident which photos are gonna turn out how good, because the tiny screen on the camera can only tell you this much. There’s some stuff I delete immediately because it’s definitely nothing, but to tell „the great from the good“ \ud83d\ude09 it takes a decent screen. But after some time taking pics, you develop a pretty good feeling for whether you’ve just captured a keeper or if it’s another blurry soup of colors. And of course, at every event, there’s the one or two shots that are just so right and amazingly, most of the time I know I have one of those right after I’ve pressed the shutter release.. But enough with the talk and let’s see the pics, here are some of my older personal favorites: \"\" Slalom Frauenfeld, probably 2007.. a GT3 lifting a wheel, something you don’t see every day.. <\/em> \"\" And here is its racing brother throwing up some mud exiting hatzenbach on the perfect racing line during the 2007 Nurburgingring 24h race.<\/em> \"\" Same corner, different scene.. a ball of energy called Gallardo, full throttle through the cambered corner, the red glow produced by 10 cylinders visible inside it’s twin exhausts.<\/em> \"\" Probably the first time I tried panning, catching the Manthey Porsche that later won the race for one of my first successfull tries.<\/em> \"\" Change of scene.. I really like how the picture shows the mood at the Geneva Auto Salon, the car quietly sitting there with people busy looking at and fiddling with everything.<\/em> \"\" A picture taken at the very first Speed Industries trackday at Anneau du Rhin.. and one very cool scooby. And it’s still 4wd, although with a 30\/70 torque-split.<\/em> \"\" The small hachi on the big Lausitzring.. lights glowing timidly, but 4A-GE screaming recklessly.<\/em> \"\" I hate this shot! Everyone loved the flame, but the rest of the picture is useless.. \ud83d\ude09<\/em> \"\" One of my favorite scoobies on my favorite track.. streaking through Breitscheid toward the steep incline at Ex-M\u00fchle at the ’09 Speed Industries Trackday.<\/em> \"\" Moooody flat black wagon at a autumnal Anneau du Rhin..<\/em> \"\" And in the colorful version of the same track, an exceptional view: Alain’s car with that front bumper that didn’t live very long..<\/em> \"\" Despite many actionfilled drift shots, this is still my favorite all time.. for so many reasons: the car (The Porsche GT3-R Hybrid that almost won the 2010 24h race), the colors, the scene, the fact the same car overtook me at the same spot.. (Wehrseifen at the Nordschleife).<\/em> \"\" Probably the most ferocious and amazing car I’ve ever experienced in person, a Ferrari 599XX doing factory testing at the 2009 Speed Industries trackday.. I still get goosebumps just looking at that picture.<\/em> >> Hope you’re all coming to Hockenheim on saturday!! Can’t wait for my first drift event of 2011!
