Hi everyone!<\/p>\n

As usual it’s past 4am when I’m writing this.. but Herbie Hancock still keeps me going, enabling me to show you a few first pictures from last wednesday’s Speed Industries Trackday at our „home track“, Anneau du Rhin. As every single time I’ve been there (and if I’m not mistaken that includes every single Speed Industries Event \ud83d\ude42 ) the atmosphere in the pits was laid-back, contrasting well with the action happening out on track, with drifters and a particularly huge number of gripers attacking the straights, corners and maybe the occasional spot of grass. Weather that was more reminiscent of a hot summer’s day than of a typical day in april probably also helped with everyone’s mood (except for the photographers, as we don’t really like blazing sunlight..) as well as with smoke development intensity at a few rear wheels. At least that’s the impression I got, as I can’t remember ever seeing as much smoke at Anneau du Rhin. But enough talk, here are a few pictures of a few people and cars that showed up:<\/p>\n

\nArriving at the track with the doors still closed, I couldn’t resist taking a pic when walking back to my car seeing it parked like that..<\/em><\/p>\n

\nSoon the briefing started with everyone paying attention to the lecture \ud83d\ude09<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThe Chief Admissions Officer was ready for the flod of customers<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\nthe Chief Photography Officer also getting ready for action<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\n..Speed Industries had even flown in a customer care expert from a internationally well-known german airline to train their people \ud83d\ude1b <\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\n..and while some veterans of the trackday scene wondered whether that really made sense.. <\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\n..it caused others to burst into spontaneous hymns of praise! \ud83d\ude00 <\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\n..this in turn caused some people to wonder whether they had gone to the right adress.. <\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\nbut just from looking at the lots of awesome Touge shirts everyone was wearing it was clear, this could only be a Speed Industries event! (although I’ve heard wearing a Superman shirt is also pretty dope! \ud83d\ude1b ) <\/em><\/p>\n

\nso the crap was cut and seatbelts were buckled up and helmets were donned.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\n..cameras were wielded, also by a up-and-comming new talent I spotted.. \ud83d\ude42 <\/em><\/p>\n

\n..and so the action started until it was halted by the worlds coolest track marshall..<\/em><\/p>\n

..and because it’s getting really late now, here are a few action shots without too any more stupid stories: \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\nawesome little early Mazda MX-5<\/em><\/p>\n

\nThe Ford Focus RS is another car you often spot at track events<\/em><\/p>\n

\nProbably again the fastest cars in attendance were a bundle of Lotus Seven type cars<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAs a little intermission, have a look at these lovely flowers! A bit of nature has never hurt anyone..<\/em><\/p>\n

buuut I know you don’t want flowers, you want action and smoke, so here’s a bunch of driftcars for you! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n
