One of the last trackdays of the 2010 season has ended. „Drive & Fun<\/a>“ have organized a Grip+Drift trackday at Anneau du Rhin just this past weekend. Even though this year’s official drifting leagues have ended already, some well-known faces took their drift weapons out for some mayhem.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Michael Scherr, IDS Pro drifter and driver of the mean green twinturbo 300zx driftcar was one of the participants.<\/p>\n

\nMichael Scherr’s green beast is packing 550 horses in the stable<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Harry M\u00fcller, driver of an all-new stealth bomber S15 he built just this year was doing some testing runs as well!<\/p>\n

\nIt’s sporting a brand-new custom widebody kit that\u00a0is unique for this particular car<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, he retired from the event sometime in the afternoon because his engine exploded. Fortunately however, this absolutely mad nutjob actually liked the fact that his engine blew because it will allow him to put in „something bigger“ as he was saying.<\/p>\n

I’m going to assume by „something bigger“ he means an engine so powerful it could run an aircraft carrier.<\/p>\n

Our media-team member Thomas\u00a0from donthomaso.ch<\/a> is usually known for his splendid photography for Speed Industries.<\/p>\n

But this time he took out his own 450hp drift-spec S14 to smoke up some tires himself!<\/p>\n

At first his car produced more smoke from the engine compartment than from the tires because the radiator fan was not working. It looked like a steamtrain was rolling trough the pitlane… hilarious!<\/p>\n

After our flying mechanic Roman\u00a0Kanab\u00e9 used a yellow ziptie\u00a0to fix\u00a0the electronics\u00a0he got the\u00a0fan to work and Thomas\u00a0was off for some sweet drifting action.<\/p>\n

\nWho said photographers can’t drift?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He finished the day without further incidents, apart from the usual wear and tear you get from drifting. For example, when your front bumper mysteriously disappears. It can happen!<\/p>\n

Near the end he even let me drive for a few\u00a0laps! Unfortunately I used the accelerator a lot and used up all his remaining fuel. Nooo.<\/p>\n

Chris Redliner, who joined the Speed Industries team just recently was getting some seat time as well.<\/p>\n

\nRedliner preparing for a run in his sleeper<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0His street-legal S13 is the absolute and undisputed sleeper car. It looks\u00a0stock from the outside, but oh what a monster it is.<\/p>\n

\nNobody would expect this stock looking\u00a0thing to have more power than a small nuclear plant<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Chris Redliner seems to have suffered some sort of head injury in his childhood, because he decided it would be a good idea to put a 500hp RB25 engine into a car that weighs little more than a ton.<\/p>\n

\nChris Redliner was\u00a0probably on the phone with his therapist<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0I was allowed in the passenger seat and can report that the result of this engine swap is as dramatic as putting a swarm of angry bees in your underpants. This car pulls like nothing I’ve seen before, and I’ve sat in some pretty serious machines.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately some component on the rear axle snapped after a few hours, so he had to retire in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

\nThis happens to tires if they’re strapped to a RB25 S13 for like\u00a0five\u00a0seconds<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Still, alot of fun was had by all, some of our buddies and supporters came by for a visit through the day.\u00a0Also, lots of seat time was possible because there were only 10 cars registered for this event. Good times!\u00a0Many thanks to the guys from Drive & Fun for the organization; all straightforward and uncomplicated just how we like it.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The Z\u00dcRIDRIFT S14 unfortunately could not participate because it is still\u00a0damaged\u00a0from the IDS Finals a few weeks ago.\u00a0It\u00a0should be back in full swing on December 4th for the last event of this year!<\/p>\n

There’s not many pictures to go around this time, mainly because one of our photographers\u00a0was busy\u00a0destroying tires instead of doing actual work.
