No trackdays, no driftevents for weeks, what is a petrolhead supposed to do during all this time? Well, I could build myself a 7000hp driftcar and win D1 seven times.. but unfortunately I have no money, otherwise I&#8217;d certainly be doing that. So unfortunately I had to restrict myself to swapping the diffs and transmission on my scooby. It&#8217;s now even more ready than ever for endless snow-drift session.. but, f..reezing hell, where&#8217;s the snow? Well, I could just go to some motorshows then.. and that&#8217;s exactly what I did, visiting Essen as well as Luxemburg Motorshow on recent weekends.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2069\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2069.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>Look into my eyes, baby!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now I&#8217;m not a really big fan of motorshows, as I prefer seeing car in there normal habitat with their tires screeching and engines screaming. But it was actually quite entertaining to go to a carshow again for a change.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2080.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>This car actually had an quoted output of less than 1000hp, which is quite miserable for a 9ff creation&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Essen is quite a big german carshow, focusing quite a bit on tuning. There was also a display of quite an array of past Monte Carlo WRC cars, which was interesting.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2047\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2047.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>Mighty Group B Audi Quattro S1E2.. I would love to one day be able experience the fury of something like that. The S1E2 developed 600PS in its final stage!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2059\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2059.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>Looking rather more timid but actually none the less scary: the mid-engined Peugeot 205 T16<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There actually was a driving\/driftshow going on most of the time, but I have to confess, I didn&#8217;t catch one single show, prefering to look at some more race cars.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2004\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2004.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>BMW&#8217;s 2012 DTM M3, can&#8217;t wait to see this racing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Luxemburg Motorshow is even more focused on motorsports, with lots of racecars on display.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2365\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2365.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>FIA GT1 Ford GT.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The tuning part of the show consists of the inevitable.. &#8222;creations&#8220;.. which don&#8217;t really belong on speed industries. But quite often it&#8217;s still worthwile walking through these parts, as there often are surprises hidden in unexpected places. This time we found a really clean almost-new looking S15 as well as this really nice Hachiroku:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2383\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2383.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>Although the new 86 is already all over the place, with cars being readied by many tuners, I still prefer the old shape!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What made Luxemburg the best motorshow I&#8217;ve been though (haven&#8217;t been to many \ud83d\ude09 ) were the cool my good photographer friend Alok and I hung out with all weekend. Oh and the E500 I got for the trip from my current employer wasn&#8217;t bad either.. shame these things are limited.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2903\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speed-industries.ch\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_2903.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" \/><br \/>\n<em>Not a racecar but a really confortable way to cover big distances quite fast.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The main attraction meanwhile was the driftshow that took place several times a day.
