Photography Friday – Crazy WeekendPhotography Friday – Crazy Weekend

Last weekend was a pretty crazy one for the team, as you might have heard already. We did the Sport Auto Drift Challenge at Hockenheim on friday and saturday and the IDS at the Nurburgring on Sunday. Summarizing the whole thing, the only word that comes to my mind is „crazy“, as I’ve met so many people, had so much fun with them but also because a lot of crazy stuff happened out on track.

I’m gonna let the drivers tell you the stories about qualifyings and battles, triumphs and tragedies and will concentrate on what the title says and just show you pictures from the two events. There will be an extra blog with people pictures in the comming day so I’ll just concentrate on the action here.

one mean beemer..

The Sport Auto Drift Challenge is the biggest anual drift event in germany, regularly playing host to about 20’000 spectators watching the battles which happen in the famous Sachskurve on saturday afternoon.

In recent years though, an almost equally important (and, for us photographers, much better) part has become the trainings and qualifying on the so called East Course, which has lots of good photo spots.

Additional suspense was this year guaranteed by the addition of a wall to the last turn, which of course was asked to be drifted by as closely as possible.

Of course parallel to the Drift Challenge there was also the Tuner GP going on, so there was some interesting metal on display

The Tuner GP also ment that we got to see some very high level grip racing when there was no drifting:

As mentioned above, instead of returning home after an actionpacked two days at hockenheim, we travelled on straight to the nurburgring and the second round of the International Drift Series (IDS). There, the action continued straight on, unfortunately including lots of bad luck for our own drifters, resulting in not as great results as in round 1. But this is a story for another day and my photos will appear on my page as soon as possible.

I’ll just put that very sexy Rocketbunny S13 here instead 🙂

I haven’t really had any free time this week and therefore wasn’t able to process as many pictures as thouroughly as I would have liked, but nonetheless, there is a selection from hockenheim in higher resolution on my website. Please also have a look at my new facebook page (!!), where all kinds of stuff will appear all the time.

And see you all at the Wheels Fest!!
