DriftChallenge: Behind the wallDriftChallenge: Behind the wall

Let’s turn the camera around for once and have a look what happens behind that wall we photographers are standing at. Or more accurately, what happens behind it when, after several hours and seven billion cars drifting by, we get a bit bored and start having some fun of our own. And let’s do that with the help of Stefan Brencher, who allowed us to use his pictures along with some of mine in this post (thanks Stefan!).

yeah, well.. that’s how we cross those walls..

Fabian Linder photobattling Lisa Linke.. the experienced track photographer can be spotted by his careless walks across the racetrack 😉

Meanwhile, I’m trying to spot what Alok is shooting with his telescope..

.. and after he’s shot it, Alok is now looking for it inside the lens. Yeah, that’s how photography works people!

A very common technique to do vertically expanded ultrapanning is the jump shot. Don’t try at home, it is very difficult. Alok and me having a go at it!

Stefan Brencher is destined to become an expert at it. Having longer hair helps with stability.

Nonetheless, he seemed intimidated at first.

If I still just can’t get that 3 second pan I get very angry at everyone. Especially cameras.

Christian Andreoli (AC Lightaddicted) seems to deal with it similarly at first.. 😛

..but then continues with having a smoke and being a bit cranky. 😉

..while Alok Paleri (Lokkydesigns) simply beats up his lens

Jenny doesn’t. She only gets perfect shots and looks at them happily.

Stefan isn’t quite that far yet, he still has to figure out some basic things about photography. But I’m sure he’ll get there!

The right angle sometimes requires us to get down and dirty

some driver’s drifting just leaves us gobsmacked, scratching our heads.. and other parts..

but at other times, 800bhp cars are flying past.. who cares, let’s talk about that party last night 😉

Clothing is of course also very important while being out shooting.. awesome T-Shirts always help

awesome sunglasses too! (made by Marco Bolognese)

shooting through sunglasses though.. I can’t do it but Jenny Ruzicska seems to pull it off

..maybe it requires the right shoes for balance?!

when we get even more bored we think of new spots to put stickers, the scooby is an especially popular target..

Or we do selfshots. I’m actually in that picture too (along with Stefan Brencher and Christian Andreoli).

Marco Bolognese sometimes gets struck by a sudden hunger.

I’ve no idea what he’s holding there but Alok Paleri and Laura Kanabé seem to like it.

Not sure about Alok’s feelings towards this piece of meat, but I’m pretty sure it won’t be here much longer..

welllllll, I hope you follow this blog all the way down here folks?!?

OK then here’s another one of the guy that delivered the majority of the photos in this blog entry only for me to write some garbage underneath em..

and that’s it.
See you soon, I’m off to bed now..
