This week I’ll show you how the engine went in… and some other stuff. Check for the last part for reference.

As soon as the engine and transmission were in, I fixed and levelled them with the help of car jacks and wooden blocks. Goal was to find the lowest and rearmost position in the chassis.

I found that the mounting points and brackets of the S13 are very similar to the R33. So the „only“ thing I had to do was compensate the longitudinal difference.

To be able to use the stock RB25 silent blocks I had to modifiy the angle of the stock engine block bracket. It had to have the same angle as the mounting points of the stock S13 crossmember.

Now this was done by cutting an rewelding it. Additionally I wanted to add some strengthening to the brackets. This you will see in the next pic.

In the meantime, a very important part arrived!

The awesome GT3076R! It features the 4″ anti-surge compressor housing and a 5-bolt internally wastegated turbine housing. This turbo I chose because I wanted the engine to have a nice and wide revband, although being able to provide enough air for high rev performance. Additionally, I wanted to keep the nice and short stock exhaust manifold, so it had to be internally wastegated… which also keeps the whole setup simple and clean. (engine bay space is an issue!)

Now this is what the RB looked after having received its blower.

I started fabricating the intercooler tubing on both sides of the FMIC.

Some other parts were now ready to be installed. The one-piece aluminium shaft, especially designed for the S13 RB25 swap. It is literally 1/3 of the weigh compared to the stock shaft.

Also some improved coil packs found their way into the engine, since spark power is an issue with high hp RB25s.

Now the engine was ready to be wired in with the new Haltech PS2000. An amazing ECU, but also an amazing amount of work to be done…
