Photography Friday – Finally back!Photography Friday – Finally back!

Finally, two weeks ago the season properly got underway with our first two trackdays at Anneau du Rhin. Fellow photographer Thomas has already posted his pics from the saturday event last friday, so I thought I’d focus on monday first and process my saturday pics at a later time.

I got awesome, smokey runs to shoot all day from the Manz M5!

The grip guys were also out in force, for example this 997 GT3 RS, already kind of a classic in my book.

I asked Michael Sahli specifically to give me lots of smoke and angle through that particular corner for that run and he obliged with a pretty much 90 degree drift. He told me afterwards that he couldn’t do that too often though, cause like that the tires are gone after a few corners.. oh and thanks for the ride, Michu!

In between runs, as usual, I had some fun in my scooby, working as a chase car for drift video shoots.. It’s not exactly the best thing for your car’s front, if you care about stuff like that, but I love doing it as there is definitely no better spectator spot in drifting than right in the middle of the action. This shot of Marco from dirtdrop media sitting in my passenger seat for one of the runs gives a good impression of how close we got:

If you can read the sticker on the car’s rear bumper, you’re close enough. 🙂

I thought the monday event was even better than saturday, because there weren’t quite as many cars there, so the atmosphere was even more chilled than usual and it really was just a day hanging out with lots of friends, doing what we all love. I won’t talk much more and just let you look at the pics.

Our man Tobias was connecting corners I don’t think I’ve seen him connect before.. and we got a pretty smoky run on one of the chase car runs, look for it in the dirtdrop media video posted on monday!

Ultra stiff track suspension? Paah, who needs that…

I just looove Hachirokus with power! CA18 in this one, making for nice, smoky runs.

Marco also got me to do car to car shots during the lunch break.. turned out alright, think we might have to develop that further at future anneau events.. talk to me if you’re interested, can’t guarantee anything though, cause it was „semi-official“.. 😉

Chris Steiner’s EG now looks like a new car.. I think it needs a few bruises, scratches and zipties to be taken seriously as a racecar though.. 😉

If you missed it, make sure to get your registration in as soon as possible to be there next time. And if you don’t have an appropriate car, just come along and watch the action unfold. There’s always something interesting to see.

Sometimes, it’s a loud car with a beverage can for a silencer..

Make sure to check out silverpics.ch, there you’ll find over a 100 pics from the event in higher resolution, also the pics from saturday will be coming up.
And of course, don’t forget to like the facebook page to stay up to date.
