Tuesday DrewsDay: Getting closerTuesday DrewsDay: Getting closer

While the others are tearing it up in Anneau du Rhin today, I’m stuck in front of my computer at the office going crazy. I look at the sunny weather outside and can think of 1’000 better things to do today than being stuck here inside. Oh well, at least I feel happy to have a job that lets me pay all my bills left and right, so I guess it makes up for it, right? A bit of sacrifice for a well deserved reward and the reward is right here below. Check my baby out; she’s starting to look dam sexy again.

This past week, I was too eager to wait until the engine set up was done that I decided to have the front end adjusted also, that being front fenders and bumper. I’m real happy with the result, but more than anything I’m so excited to finally have a body kit on my S chassis. I’ve been dreaming about this for a long time and it’s finally happening. I think that now is the time to enjoy it the most as I honestly don’t know how long it will last 🙂

I love this picture above for one single reason!!! Can anyone guess??? The damage done to my carbon fiber hood is pretty apparent from the time when my engine was on fire last year at the RING. The flames were so intense and HOT that a section of the top of my hood just started melting and the varnish dissolving. As much as I wana fix this, I also kind of like it. I wouldn’t mind keeping it as a sort of memory to never let this happen again, kind of like a scar on your body

The engine bay is slowly getting there and I really feel as it’s starting to look all badass and professional. I’m very happy so far with the setup and just can’t wait to see how the newly built SR reacts once in full load.

As you can see, I still have loads of bodywork to fix all over the car but hopefully this will get done in the next weeks or so. I’m super happy to have changed my baby’s shoes for this year and love the result. I had to stay in a 17’ inch wheel size because Yokohama didn’t accept to sponsor me for this year. Man I just can’t wait to be able to smoke some wide ass 18 or even 19 inch tires the day any rubber company decides to believe in my SMOKIING SKILLS.

Engine bay is close to completion and almost ready for mapping. I’m happy to have stayed with an SR engine although a swap was very tempting. I had about 300hp with my SR before with the stock turbo, and this was already good power for good smoke. I didn’t want to have too much more power due to reliability and heating issues, so I decided to just reinforce the whole internals of my SR and get a new turbo. With this setup, I will easily get 350hp with low boost. I will be running this setup most of the time as more power would be great for speed, smoke and fun but I have a feeling my tires will just disappear way too fast. So in the end it’s all about a good compromise that each driver needs to find. This is mine for the meanwhile.

Stay tuned for next week.
