Inside Performance: Project S14 first shakedownInside Performance: Project S14 first shakedown

Hi guys

So after the first few mods to our project S14 (read here) we brought it to Anneau du Rhin and did the first real testing.

First thing we did was to get the car on a dyno (by Dynoteam) to see where the engine power was after almost 20 years.
Remember we did not do any mods to the engine or exhaust. Only thing we switched out was the panel air filter and obviously all the fluids.
So on the dyno we got 199hp which is not bad for a car which factory figure was 205hp.

After that we mpunted the new catback system.
Unfortunately we could not determine the hp change due to some electrical network problems on site and therefore the dyno was not running proper.
We will get back to this next time.

Then we got back to the track.
We gave the car a good run in and put several laps on it.

This was some good fun and also showed us which areas of the car we need to address next.
Top of this list are replacing the seats with something that holds you in place better.
The LSD could also need an upgrade since we are loosing a lot of power at corner exits.
And the brakes will also need to be addressed soon, since the stock setup will not cut it for us.

So see you soon then we will have an update on lap times and the current hp figure.
