Driver Presentation: Swen BurkhardDriver Presentation: Swen Burkhard

Swen Burkhard is one of those drivers who live motorsports to the fullest and enjoy every minute of it.

If you would give Swen a racing car and a mechanic he would probably get under the car himself and check what he can adjust on the setup and make it faster and to his taste. Due to his know how about suspension setup, engines and driving physics he is a one in a million baby and a top to ask guy in the team. Additionally he is very calm all the time which really helps at times with the team and his driving style.

Here he just launched his secret afterburner under the car

You can tell by his driving style that he started with motorsports at an early stage in his life. When he was at the age of 7 e started with karts. Today he drives his Hachi very smooth at drifting or at grip driving and he shows the limits of his car, not his driving capabilities. Best example for this is that he was the only active driver in 2010 who did not need to do work on his body panels.

His not so good overall standing in the 2010 International Drift Series is mostly caused by having not that much power in his car and some technical difficulties. Every race he was doing his rain dance and was hoping for the „make the Hachi look good water from heaven“. He was a force in the wet and managed to overtake other cars on the outer side in bends during the drift. Crazy stuff.

His history with the AE86 started back in 2006 when he purchased not one but two Hachirokus. He did not know that much about the car back then but he was daam sure that the lightweight RWD plattform will be a blast. Shortly after he realised that his car was one of the most favorite drift cars and he started to drive it the proper way at some of the Speed Industries events. Since he was karting a lot back in the days he still goes out to the Nordschleife with his Hachiroku and plays with the big horsepower cars (mostly to his favour).

Due to a new business opportunity we might not see him that much this season but be ready to see him go crazy at those events he attends.
