For the 6th round of the IDS drift competitions in Monza, Italy we were in a pinch. Half the drivers of Team SI were booked to run at a drift show at the Red Bull Racedays in Switzerland. So Andrew and myself were the only Speed Industries drivers who were up for the challenge of Round 6. Here’s how our story went…

Two pro drivers from Team Speed Industries started off early in the morning to get to the east of Germany and attend the fourth round of the IDS PRO competition. Lausitz is even farther away from home than Sosnova, CZ where we were battling it out last time. The day-long roadtrip was exciting nonetheless and we arrived early enough to start building our tents on Thursday night. Many thanks to Lisa Linke for the wonderful photography!

For the third round of the IDS PRO drift series, the whole team decided to skip the round because Sosnova, CZ is like a million miles away from Zurich.
I on the other hand thought it would be a good idea to gather the most willing drift pirates I could find, get out there and see if the Czech drifters really are as mad as they all say. This is a log of our adventure. Thanks to Silverpics.ch and Lisa Linke for the photographs!

Barely survived the incredible IDS Round 3 in Czechia! Came out 3rd place in the IDS ranking after lots of fierce battles with mad Czech and German drivers!

Team Speed Industries has barely survived an epic weekend where the team attacked the Hockenheim Driftchallenge 2011 and IDS Round 2 on the same weekend.
It was a weekend filled with up’s and down’s that ended with most Speed Industries cars suffering major technical issues and even a huge nasty accident! 🙁
