Photography Friday – Finally back!Photography Friday – Finally back!

Finally, two weeks ago the season properly got underway with our first two trackdays at Anneau du Rhin. Fellow photographer Thomas has already posted his pics from the saturday event last friday, so I thought I’d focus on monday first and process my saturday pics at a later time.

As almost every year, last week I made the trip down to Geneva for the Autosalon. I think I’ve actually mentioned on here before that I don’t really like static carshows, there’s just not enough smoke, noise and action. Nonetheless, Geneva is always a good opportunity to catch up on what’s new in the automotive world.

Thomas was unfortunately too busy to handle his foto friday this week so I though I just step in.
After hours of thinking on how I could get my Iphone in shape to make decent pictures I just decided on posting a selection of pictures I really like from the past.

First race I ever attended.

Photography Friday – Let it SnowPhotography Friday – Let it Snow

Sometime this winter, my good friend and fellow photographer Alok Paleri called me, asking „hey dude, would you like to spend a whole day drifting you car on snow?“. Well of course, long discussions and persuasions followed until, 7 seconds later, I said „yeah, of course!“.

Well I recently had a few chances to drive something a bit different from the scooby I normally drive for a weekend. As one of the cars in question also happened to look pretty good (at least in my opinion) I of course had to do a little photoshoot. Being interested in pretty much anything with an internal combustion engine in it, it goes without saying that I also tested all its abilities pretty thouroughly so thinking about this week’s photo friday, I thought why not just have a go at a bit of a car review. So I present to you, the Mercedes-Benz CLS500:

As you might have noticed, we’re in between seasons. No trackdays, no driftevents for weeks, what is a petrolhead supposed to do during all this time? Well, I could build myself a 7000hp driftcar and win D1 seven times.. but unfortunately I have no money, otherwise I’d certainly be doing that. So unfortunately I had to restrict myself to swapping the diffs and transmission on my scooby. It’s now even more ready than ever for endless snow-drift session.. but, f..reezing hell, where’s the snow? Well, I could just go to some motorshows then.. and that’s exactly what I did, visiting Essen as well as Luxemburg Motorshow on recent weekends.
