One day we were participating at a 2,5h Kart race. It was just me and some friends. I got there in my daily AE86 and when we were all standing at the car after lunch some guy approached me and asked me if this was my car. As it turned out it was Chris and he also had an AE86 and fell in love with lightweight japanese cars some time ago.

Everybody who ever participated in a trackday, driftevent or race knows that motorsport is not the cheapest hobbie that can bring you some thills but we all do it because we love it.
The Speed Industries Drift team participated in various events all over Europe in 2010. We put all our hard earned money into travel expenses, tyres, fuel, upgrades on the cars and lots of repairs. The team went through some 200+ new tyres, 3 turbos, 5 engines, 3 clutches, 3 gearboxes, some bumpers and also melted racing shoes. This was just on 3 pro class cars and 1 street class cars. So I guess you get the idea of it.Everybody who ever participated in a trackday, driftevent or race knows that motorsport is not the cheapest hobbie that can bring you some thills but we all do it because we love it.

The average Toyota Corolla AE86 is about 25 years old and has seen a million kilometers on the road. After this time it should be time for retirement, unfortunatly things didn’t work out so well for this example. Andreas Lanz considered this to be the perfect car for one purpose – beeing fast uphill!
